Has The Air Gone Walking?

A 4 track leftfield/idm ep (17m 37s) — released April 14th 2008 on Geo Records
GEO RECORDS are proud to release the debut EP from Raf and O ,Has the air gone walking . The EP is on shiny 10" vinyl and features four tracks – Sky, Cycad, 7 Blue and Squeezebox. All haunting vocals, shimmering electronics, throbbing bass and glitchy grooves – it's the sound of a three way musical and sonic collision – informed by a pop sensibility married to an experimental spirit. It marks a relaunch for GEO – the label mainly so far a home for melodectronic space commander Gagarin whose several Geo releases have garnered largescale critical acclaim across Europe. The EP is the first release in a programme of regular eps and albums throughout 2008. Has the Air Gone walking is a taste of whats to come from the debut raf and O album due later this year. Raf and O will be undertaking a series of gigs through the spring in support of the album as well as a live session on resonance fm.

Four seductive winding pieces of Jazzy vocal electronica. Like Bjork on her intimate Vespertine album, these songs feel like they are playing in your head - and once they are there, they wont leave. vocal electronica. Like Björk on her intimate 'Vespertine' album, these songs feel like they're playing inside your head – and once there they won't leave - - Joe Muggs Mixmag

Cycad and 7 Blue have a coolness and a control that shows the band in a much better light. And the poise of Squeezebox, which tail-ends the EP, has a delicacy and swooning sadness that hints at great promise for the future. - Robert Rowlands The Milk Factory

With what sounds like Cindy Lauper on vocals at her most playful and some repentant drum n bass glitches grooves, held back whilst the glacial synth melodies gently glide by. - Subba Cultcha

With a new EP Raf and O make some interesting art. The 4 tracks drip with an urban claustrophobia. - Paul Hawkins The Brink
